At Little Like Me, our products are generally constructed of northern red oak as ‘standard’.  (However, we will custom build any piece from a variety of woods - see the MATERIALS section.)

We try to maintain a stock of our standard products in an unfinished state, so that when an order is placed it takes only a few days to finish the piece(s) in the color of your choosing, and ship the piece.

Our Standard finish is Minwax ^® oil-based or water-based wood finish applied directly to the wood, followed by a coat of Minwax ™ Sanding Sealer, and top-coated with two coats of Minwax ^® semi-gloss polyurethane varnish.  While it requires more time to apply and dry, polyurethane provides a finish that is significantly more durable and water resistant than the lacquer finishes used by most furniture builders.
