Aromatic Red
Cedar
Aromatic cedar has been used for centuries as a liner for storage chests and
closets because of its ability to repel unwanted insects that might cause damage
to stored clothing and linens. All of our chests feature solid,
tongue-and-grooved, Canadian Aromatic Red Cedar Linings. Our linings are
assembled as interlocked panels which hold each other in place eliminating unsightly nails or
staples.
Hardware
All of our chests use only the best available hardware. Two lid supports
are used to hold the lid open at any angle and to ensure smooth, controlled
closing of the lid minimizing the chance of closing the lid on fingers. |

Bridal Chest

The first of these
chests was custom-built for a gentleman in Illinois as a wedding gift for his
bride-to-be.
This chest is constructed entirely of solid hardwood except for the lid and
bottom which are hardwood veneered plywood for stability. The lid is edged
with 2" wide solid hardwood.
The chest shown features a cherry case with raised panel construction,
finished with an antique cherry stain.
The drawer in the
bottom is a glass-topped drawer in which a wedding dress or other cherished
items can be stored and displayed.
This chest is
available in Oak, Maple, Cherry and Black Walnut. Other woods are
available on special request.
